Thread Brothers

Welcome to Thread Brothers — a free practical sewing and mending group for men.

Led by none other than Great British Sewing Bee finalist Tony Rea, this group is a space for men to learn to sew, repair clothes, and upcycle fabric into new items in a relaxed, hands‑on group.

This is not a set of formal sewing lessons; just half-a-dozen machines around the table, and the chance to learn at your own pace and according to your own goals.

This group is the perfect chance to learn a new skill and hang out in the company of some other likeminded men - all whilst having time to lose yourself in making something with your hands. The perfect chance to switch off your worries and stresses for a couple of hours.

Thread Brothers is a partnership between Devon Partnership NHS Trust, Open Up, Wellmoor, and Great British Sewing Bee finalist, Tony Rea. Together, we hope that hands-on, creative activities helps to improve wellbeing and relieves the stresses of daily life.
