Devon Day Trippers Group Leader: December 2022 Onwards

We all know that living rurally can make it difficult for many people to get out and about. This can have a negative impact on people's confidence and ability to use public transportation, leaving them feeling isolated and lonely. Devon Day Trippers is a project of Wellmoor, a Moretonhampstead-based health and wellbeing charity, that aims to take people on free day trips to places of interest in Devon. The trips will be varied, confidence-building, and a good day out!

We are looking for someone responsible, organised, and friendly to help with the day trips, from managing and recruiting trip volunteers and signing up clients to ensuring everyone is safe and happy on the trips themselves. We think this will be a fun role for the right person.

Role responsibilities and requirements:

·         Working with the project manager to recruit volunteers to support the trip

·         Working with the project manager to recruit clients to the trip

·         Working with the project manager to support the organisation of practical elements

·         Working with the mini-bus drivers to coordinate the trips

·         Collecting monitoring information on attendees and reporting back to Wellmoor

·         Supervising and guiding volunteers during the trips

·         Being the key contact for attendees during the trips including dealing confidently with any issues which may arise

·         Undertaking safeguarding and additional training as necessary

·         Understanding of and sensitive towards people suffering from isolation and loneliness

·         Willing to gain an understanding of the factors which make people apprehensive about getting out and about

·          

Key information:

·         £10.75 per hour, 8 hours per week between 14th December and 30th April

·         6 hours of training and supervision time paid at £10.75 per hour to be scheduled at a time convenient to yourself and Wellmoor

·         Managed by the Wellmoor team

Deadline for applications is Sunday 20th of November. Interviews will be held at Green Hill, Moretonhampstead on Thursday 24th of November.
